Who we are

Troop 412

BSA Troop 412 is chartered by Lake Murray Presbyterian Church in Chapin, South Carolina. We meet every Wednesday night from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM during the Richland/Lexington District 5 School year. We schedule meetings during the summer as needed. We accept girls from ages 11 to 18.

BSA Troop 412 teaches independence, teamwork, confidence, and life skills to girls. Scout learn cooking, camping, orienteering, and hiking. They also learn life skills such as first aid, citizenship, budgeting, and emergency preparedness. We want all girls to understand they are strong of mind and body.

Our Troop is directed by the Senior Patrol Leader and his Assistant SPL, Scribe, Quartermaster, Troop Guide, and Chaplain Aide. Each Patrol Leader sits on the Patrol Leader Council and along with directing his Patrol, also helps the SPL plan and carry out the Troop Activities. Our Outdoor Program emphasizes camping, swimming, learning about nature, and having fun.

Our Troop co-operates with Pack 411 (Cub Scouts ages 6 – 10), Troop 411 (boys ages 10 – 17), and Crew 411 (Venturing Crew – girls & boys ages 14 – 20), which are also sponsored by Lake Murray Presbyterian Church.

We belong to the Etowah Creek District in the Indian Waters Council.

“The world needs strong women. Women who will lift and build others, who will love and be loved. Women who live bravely, both tender and fierce. Women of indomitable will.”– Amy Tenney
